    Columbia Laboratories Inc, Portland's premier Food/Environmental/Hemp testing laboratory is currently looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our Chromatography team.

    In this exciting role, you will contribute to a world class laboratory in the following manner:

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Perform routine preparation and extraction of samples.
    • Work with the lab supervisor and operations manager to determine priority.
    • Prepare reagents and solutions.
    • Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment including pipettes, balances, centrifuges, etc.
    • Batching and data entry in MS Excel and LIMS.
    • Prepare extracted samples for analysis in coordination with analytical chemists
    • Properly handle and dispose of laboratory hazardous waste.
    • Manage inventory and restocking of chemicals, consumables, and supplies.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement to process efficiency and throughput.
    • Shared responsibility for general laboratory organization and cleanliness.
    • Communication of relevant work details to Lab Supervisor and coworkers.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Strong scientific, organizational, and computer skills.
    • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
    • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.

    Education and Experience:

    • The successful candidate will have BA/BS in Chemistry or related field, or equivalent experience working in a laboratory setting. A preference will be towards candidates that have experience in an analytical laboratory.
    • Good knowledge of laboratory terminology, wet chemistry, bench work, equipment, materials, and the techniques/procedures commonly used in a production laboratory.
    • Knowledge of LIMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

    Position is full-time with overtime as needed. Candidate must be willing to work Mon-Fri 8:30-5pm or possibly Tues-Sat as business dictates.



    Must have or be able to obtain OLCC cannabis workers permit upon hire
