Geotechnical Practice Leader - TDOT

S&ME is seeking an individual with a passion for Geotechnical Engineering and the design of soil-supported structures and a leader of our statewide geotechnical engineering practice across Tennessee's transportation sector in Nashville, Tennessee as Geotechnical Practice Leader and help us provide engineering solutions to our clients.

What You Will Do:

As the Geotechnical Practice Leader, you will help grow a team of geotechnical engineers and professional staff by leading S&ME's engagement with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and other consulting engineers that S&ME teams with on project pursuits, while also coordinating work being carried out under existing contracts with S&ME's transportation project partners.

You have a verifiable track record of developing clients and business with TDOT, utilizing the services offered by S&ME, and have a demonstrated ability to plan and direct geotechnical work on a wide range of transportation design projects (including Traditional and Alternative Delivery Projects) for a variety of geologic settings.

• Develop and implement a growth strategy for the market segment, employing a programmatic approach.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of the market, adapt strategies to emerging conditions, and leverage a strong network within the market.
• Oversee the development and delivery of high-quality services to clients within the practice.
• Collaborate with regional staff to identify and pursue business opportunities, managing risk and costing.
• Serve as a Champion for critical projects, collaborating with regional and service line leadership to secure resources and achieve key service line KPIs.

Who You Are:

• You have a Bachelor's degree in a closely related field
• You have a minimum of 10 years of project and program management-related experience
• You have marketing and business development skills in addition to contacts/relationships within the practice
• You are Project Management Professional (PMP) certified, a plus
• You have a Professional registration of PE/PG or applicable licensing, a plus
