Director of Group Salesis an experienced senior level hotel sales role that reports directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing. Responsibilities include managing and leading the sales staff as well as managing select key accounts.
The Director of Group Sales responsibilities include but are not limited to the mentoring and training sales staff, leading sales meetings, leading sales prospecting efforts, driving the team to maximize group revenue opportunities, working with catering and convention services, involvement with the annual business plan process, forecasting, systems training, report analysis, customer entertainment, community involvement and networking.
This position may be required to serve as Director in the absence of the Director of Sales.Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
Coordinate group sales solicitations and bookings to maximize overall revenue
Compile and/or direct the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department to include, but not limited to the annual and monthly Forecast, Lead Management System, Booking Report, star reports, and Sales Meeting minutes
Proactively conduct outside sales calls conduct sales tours and entertain clients
Understand the content reflected in contracts, hotel processes and how to negotiate terms therein
Develop and maintain market awareness to ensure the ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies
Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within your market and the team
Comply with the attainment of individual goals as well as team goals and budgeted metrics
Train all members of the hotel staff on how to recognize and capitalize on all sales opportunities to increase hotel occupancy and revenue
Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel including Sales Food and Beverage Front Office and Reservations
Maintain strong visibility in the local community and industry organizations
Attend and/or conduct daily/weekly/monthly meetings and any other functions required by management providing training on a rotational basis
Participate and support the team in hotel site tours and customer entertainment when needed
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
