- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the Manufacturing Playbook and Playlist. Support and apply the Playbook/Playlist in all areas.
- Troubleshoots PLC and HMI programs, instrumentation, and drives on the production lines with an analytical systemsbased approach.
- Analyzes data to identify where quantifiable improvements will have the most impact in a rapidly changing manufacturing environment and manage those identified improvements at a multi production line, high speed asphalt roofing manufacturing facility.
- Identifies gaps in automation deployment and programs and/or works with Plant Systems team to implement improvements in PLC programs.
- Facilitates change management and sustainment documentation such as engineering drawings, manuals, troubleshooting guides, process flow diagrams, and spare parts lists.
- Performs electrical and controls layouts, updates and creates electrical drawings in CAD or other electrical drawing software.
- Works cooperatively with a cross functional team of Engineers, Operations, and Maintenance personnel, understanding the needs of each department's primary focus.
- Improves current manufacturing systems and reliability of electrical, controls systems on machinery which is exposed to abrasive materials.
- Maintains awareness of new capabilities and technologies as they relate to controls, drives, and web handling. When applicable, lead the implementation and adoption of new technologies.
- Flexible and adaptive, able to thrive in a fastchanging environment, implementing solutions rapidly without cutting corners.
- Assumes role as project manager for installation of improvement projects:
- Write project specifications for vendor bids, including project scope development.
- Provide appropriate project justification and cost-benefit analysis as necessary for project proposals.
- Coordinate with cross functional teams in the design, planning, installation, and commissioning
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in an engineering field from an accredited university (Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, or Controls Engineering Preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing; 5+ years of experience is preferred.
- Extensive background in PLC code development.
- Experience with motion control systems using VFDs and Servos (Siemens preferred.)
- Electrical distribution troubleshooting and design experience, understanding NEC.
- HMI programming experience (Aveva preferred.)
- Knowledgeable user of AutoCAD Electrical and Microsoft Office.
