    Senior Business Development Associate

    The Senior Business Development Associate is accountable for creating new business opportunities, maximizing the Value Proposition of each project, and developing and maintaining relationships with the Client.

    The position is accountable for maintaining and utilizing industry intelligence to place the business in the best strategic position to provide innovative and valued solutions to clients. This role is also responsible for managing existing client relationships within the portfolio and creating positive client experience that drives opportunities for increased business.


    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    Drive new opportunities with new and existing clients to closure. Proven experience in leads follow up and cold calling activities to get new business.

    Track leads on a regular / permanent basis to make sure all deadlines are successfully met.

    Manage the Customer Relation Management tool

    Shepherd customers through the sales process including confidentiality agreements, technical calls, high level estimates, proposals and agreements

    Manage development and maintenance of proposal content database

    Identify and execute on continuous improvement opportunities to improve sales processes and their effectiveness

    Achieve annual sales plan and targets defined by corporate strategy

    Gather general intelligence on key competitors and customers

    Work with Marketing to develop sales and marketing promotion support materials include, but not limited to, presentations, brochures, questionnaires, and white papers

    Develop and refine the Business Development Strategy for the client portfolio in North America as it aligns to the global strategy by aiming to maximize:

    Total revenue

    Total profitability

    Customer experience

    Strength and scope of future relationship

    Align current progress toward businesses long term strategic goals


    Qualifications

    PhD, MBA or equivalent advanced degree or experience, and strong track record (5+ years) in cell therapy or closely related field.

    Experience in strategic planning and strategy execution, in a cross-functional life science organization.

    Experience in Sales and Business Development with a strong track record (5+years)

    Working knowledge of CDMO business operations and models

    Experience in successfully coordinating across several complex functions to ensure comprehensive and consistent execution of the strategy.

    Experience with the preparation and delivery of reports and/or presentations/communications of business strategies and opportunities.

    Superior interpersonal communication and relationship management skills.

    Relevant IT skills (able to work with Visio, Microsoft Project and Office suite)

    Working Environment

    Must have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment and with clients

    Must be able to work during the weekend, holidays and as required by the company

    Must be able to handle the standard/moderate noise of the manufacturing facility

    This role operates within a professional office environment of a manufacturing operations plant. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Seating is mixed and includes open space seating, cubicle, and office space.

    This role is sedentary. An individual may occasionally exert up to 30 pounds of force or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary entails sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.

    Must be capable of moving, sitting, stretching, stooping, reaching with hands and arms, and have vision sufficient to read materials.

    Must be capable of using hands and fingers to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as copy machine, printer, and calculator.

    Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in person, and on the telephone.

    Up to 10% travel may be required.
