    JOB SUMMARY


    The Quality Control Technician I is a highly motivated and detailed oriented person responsible for inspecting, testing, and measuring a variety of plastic and metal components using a variety of standard tests and metrology tooling to determine conformance to JST standards, engineering specifications and customer specifications and expectations.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    Always maintain a clean and safe working environment.
    Represent the company in a professional manner to the public, customers, and vendors.
    Maintain trusting relationships with customers and fellow employees.
    Check, inspect and measure components to ensure they are consistent with engineering drawings (Blueprints) and customer specifications and requirements.
    Follow inspection procedures for part testing requirements.
    Follow the QA Director's instructions which may include duties outside of the quality department as needed.

    Perform non-destructive and destructive tests, according to written procedures, on parts to identify conformity to specified design requirements such as water leak check and spark testing.

    Accept or reject finished products and discuss inspection results with the production team.


    JOB REQUIREMENTS
    High School Diploma
    At least 6 months of applied, technical or industrial metrology experience required or equivalent education. This could include time spent manufacturing as a machinist, precision welder, finish carpenter or other trade.
    Strong desire to learn.
    Strong problem-solving skills
    Strong attention to detail
    Ability to work overtime as needed.
    Well organized and can self-manage time and determine priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    Integrity is required as decisions made have an effect on employee and customer safety and satisfaction.

    Able to bend and squat to check parts is required as position occasionally requires crawling on the ground to inspect larger parts.

    Able to walk, stand and work on feet for the duration of shift.

    Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, grasp, handle and operate hand/power tools or controls.

    Effective verbal and written communication skills
    The ability to visually check tiny features of small parts.
    The ability to perform basic computer functions.
