    SUMMARY

    We are seeking a versatile and skilled floater to join out dynamic team. The data processing floater will play a pivotal role in both production and Pre-Production areas based on the evolving needs of the lab. The ideal candidate should be adaptable, possess a strong technical background, have great attention to detail, and be capable of seamlessly transitioning between various tasks with our manufacturing processes. These workstations include tracing, shipping, FTC, data processing, stockroom, frame receiving, finishing, mounting, and outsourcing.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Primary Duties

  • Reviews assigned queues in Combobulator and makes corrections based on specific queue guidelines.
  • Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents into computer following format displayed on screen and enters necessary codes.
  • Compares data entered with source documents or re-enters data in verification format on screen to detect errors.
  • Makes necessary corrections to information entered.
  • Must know additional information when it applies: billing policies, lens availability, frame manufacturers, etc.
  • Make changes on the Eyefinity website if VSP orders need to be modified.
  • Work in stockroom printing, folding, and putting work tickets in trays.
  • Pull frames and scan in DVI to remove from inventory and check for accuracy.
  • Pull frames and bill out stock orders.
  • Order and receive frames from suppliers through DVI.
  • Receive and tray up work from outsourced vendors. Pull frames, sort trays and scan to appropriate station.
  • Assist Pre-Production with receiving frame and lenses to assure accuracy with orders.
  • Receive frames in DVI and assign bin locations.
  • Verify frame edge type correct.
  • Trace frames and then scan tray number barcode to link tracing to the correct order in DVI.
  • After tracing frame put frames in assigned bin as printed on the FTC label.
  • Print, key, and check billing on VBS insurance jobs.
  • Open mail and sort frame by account
  • Empty carts of empty trays received from Shipping and return carts to designated areas.
  • Work the production teams to give our customers the best service and quality possible.
  • Work to verify and process insurance claims when needed.
  • Secondary duties

  • Cross train to lab for mounting when other tasks are completed.
  • Fill customer supply requests from customer service.
  • Keep track of frames not in process using process supplied.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Team Lead or Manager
  • Assist in yearly lens and frame inventory.
  • Maintain shared email.
  • Add drill information to orders as needed.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience

  • Some optical laboratory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Able and willing to work as a team.
  • Attention to Detail
  • Must be able to work Overtime and Saturdays when needed and be flexible with work schedule.
  • Able to read and write English Language well and good with basic math skills.
  • Able to memorize large amounts of data accurately.
  • Have experience working on a computer.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and to use hands to type and write. The employee occasionally is required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Safety Requirements

  • Basic understanding of the Injury and Illness Prevention Program and the Hazard Communication Program
  • Must use proper ergonomics when lifting and sitting at workstation especially when using a computer.
  • Wear closed toe and closed heal shoes at all times.
