    Summary:


    As an Electronics and Avionic Production and R&D Lab Manager, you will be responsible for production of all electronics and avionics, electromechanical, harness production as well as responsible for the R&D laboratory.

    Position reports to the Operations Manager with a dotted line to engineering regarding Laboratory and R& D activities. You will oversee 3 lab technicians.


    In this role you will take over the entire electronic component production and will establish discipline, standards and training to best utilize the resources and implement efficiency and quality.

    You will work to develop ATP and participate in ATP rig definition with engineering in support of serial production.

    You will work with engineering with minimal technical documentation to build prototypes and simplified test rigs and assist in testing.

    You will also oversee the construction and maintenance of all mockups and test rigs within the facility.

    What you will be doing:
    Plan and schedule your team to meet production requirements
    Meet and exceed quality standards
    Develop ATP and rigs to simplify production and eliminate reworks and troubleshooting
    Develop standards and process and train employees
    Implement and improve processes and enforce execution and compliance to the process
    Conduct functional acceptance testing of circuit board assemblies and power electronic units according to defined test procedures
    Fabricate special test equipment, electronic test boxes, and harnesses
    Independently set up and utilize standard test equipment, including oscilloscopes, power analyzers, power supplies, and digital multimeters
    Troubleshoot, identify root causes, and document electronic functional failures
    Perform circuit board electronic modifications, such as component rework, soldering/de-soldering of electronic components
    Read electrical schematics and utilize manufacturers' product data sheets
    Provide support for the development and validation testing of high-voltage automotive power electronic components
    Utilize MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    Maintain a clean working environment and adhere to safe practices

    What you need to qualify:
    Bachelors' Degree in Electronics preferred
    Experience managing production team
    2+ years of experience as an electronic lab manager
    2+ years of experience with soldering, handling lab equipment, and board rework
    Experience in fabricating special test equipment, including test boxes and test harnesses
    Proficiency in using hand and power tools
    Knowledge of industry standards, including IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, IPC-7711/7721
    Familiarity with prototype and fabrication shop processes
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment
    Willingness to work flexible hours and a proactive approach to filling in gaps as needed
    High voltage safety awareness with a priority on safety
