- Assign and oversee moderate to complex Commercial Auto and General Liability losses.
- Ensure timely handling of Commercial Liability claims for proper valuations determination, timely settlement offers, timely address to counteroffers, and proper settlement outcomes according to state statutes and regulatory policy.
- Review files and train staff to ensure different jurisdictional requirements are met; such as, statutes, comparative negligence, strict liability, etc.
- Attend claim reviews with staff.
- Negotiate settlements directly and provides oversight for direct reports, who conduct negotiations, mitigate damages, and control expenses.
- 5+ years of Commercial Auto and/or General Liability claims experience.
- 2+ years of Commercial Liability Claims Supervisor/Management experience.
- Must have Insurance Carrier or TPA claims experience.
- Must be well versed in handling or managing Commercial Liability claims in MD or DC.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the capability to write routine reports and correspondence, speak effectively before groups of customers or employees and handle litigations and negotiations.
- Adjuster licenses are preferred but not required.
- $90,000 to $105,000 annual salary (depending on experience)

Description
Our client is seeking to add a Commercial Liability Claims Manager to their Maryland operations. This person would be responsible for overseeing a team of Commercial Liability Claims Examiners handling mid to complex Commercial Auto and General Liability claims including subrogation files throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Responsibilities of this position include assigning new losses, reviewing files to ensure corporate best practices are met, and participating in virtual claims reviews as needed. This is a hybrid position with a flexible working schedule.
