- Provides legal advice and counsel on active legal cases in support of corporate insurance claims.
- Researches active claims and collaborates with external legal representation, Insurance Companies, Brokers in preparing for settlement hearings and/or litigations.
- Assists with the review and publishing of corporate quarterly newsletter
- Responsible for preparing annual corporate insurance applications
- Collaborates with Directors on investigating and filing new claims with insurance
- Serves as a point of contact to provide Certificates of Insurance (COIs) and liability insurance for newly acquired locations
- Assists with legal matters before the court, hearings/petitions and judicial proceedings.
- Provides basic legal advice as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Excellent communication, research, organizational and writing skills
- Strong time management skills
- Familiarity with New York City corporate and insurance laws
- Ability to handle stress and work in a fast-paced, high volume environment
- Litigation experience a plus
- J.D from an ABA Accredited Law School
- 0 to 1 year of experience or applicable internship
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift to 5 pounds at times
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities
