    Safety Manager – Job Posting

    The Safety Manager will work closely with operational and support staff to promote a positive safety culture. This position will report directly to the General Manager.

    Job Description:

    Safety Manager will support an injury free workplace by;

    • Participating in safety meetings and discussions, employee engagement and recognition
    • Leading Site Audits, Area Inspections, and Equipment Inspections
    • Organizing and Leading Safety Training
    • Organizing and Facilitating Plant Safety Committee
    • Organizing, Capturing, and Communicating Proactive Safety Activities and Measures
    • Facilitating Continuous Improvement Activities
    • Ensuring Contractor Compliance and auditing on the job practices

    Safety Manager will ensure safety compliance with standards for;

    • Federal Mine Safety and Health Act
    • State & Local Municipalities

    Safety Manager will demonstrate Leadership Qualities through;

    • Strong Communication with all Levels
    • Building Relationships with plant personnel and regulatory staff
    • Collaborating with other departments
    • Executing Task Effectively
    • Coaching and Training new and existing employees

    Safety Manager will demonstrate Organization Qualities through;

    • Strategic planning of both day-to-day task and long-range projects
    • Maintaining Records in accordance to Corporate and Federal Record Retention Guidelines
    • Maintain Training Plans and Training Documents in accordance to Corporate and Federal Guidelines
    • Administering and Maintain Records for Medical Monitoring Programs
    • Support management of Workers Compensation incidents
    • Working with Contractors and other Service providers

    Requirements:

    • Degree or Minimum of five years Safety leadership experience
    • Strong planning, problem solving, troubleshooting, communication, project management, and leadership skills
    • Thorough knowledge of either MSHA or OSHA regulations; Accompany Inspectors
    • Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics experience
    • Microsoft proficient
    • Experience in a union environment is desirable
