    Job Summary:


    We are currently looking to add to our team with an exciting opportunity as Senior Accountant to support the accounting operations within our ERP system, including maintenance of ledger periods, recording journal entries and financial allocations, distribution of balance sheet account certifications internally and facilitating the reclassification of activity from former agency companies to new integrated platform companies.

    In addition, The Senior Accountant role will work closely with the Senior Manager of Consolidation Accounting to assist with the completion of a timely and accurate month-end close process.

    The ideal candidate must be hands-on, have excellent organizational and time management skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

    We are a relationship-oriented business, and strong relationship and partnering skills are vital to this role.

    Previous work experience in accounting and financial systems is required, and experience in the insurance brokerage or a related industry is preferred.


    Responsibilities:
    Maintain ledger periods and related functionality within Workday.
    Distribute monthly balance sheet account certifications to other ABS accounting team members.
    Prepare journal entries, including financial allocations and other analyses.
    Reconcile intercompany accounts and other balance sheet accounts.
    Support Senior Manager of Consolidation Accounting with monthly reports and month-end variance analyses.

    Contribute to the development of new or revised accounting systems, programs and procedures (internal controls).Collaborate with other ABS team members to reclassify activity from former agency companies to new integrated platform companies.

    Complete report requests from Leadership, Finance and other internal accounting departments.
    Assist in auditing bank account activity to ensure Associates are posting transactions correctly.
    Assist with annual activities such as the year-end audit, budget, state apportionment, 1099 information, and unclaimed property.
    Follow up on projects and team assignments and hold others accountable for their internal deadlines and administrative responsibilities.
    Provide clear and timely instruction, leading to efficient production and limited need for rework.
    Identify unresolved issues that need correction/further exploration and determine the necessary corrective action plan.

    Provide prompt, accurate, courteous, "best in class" service to ABS Accounting team members, leadership team and all staff.*This description is not meant to be all-inclusive and may be modified at the discretion of management.

    Maintains a professional demeanor and positive attitudeEducation/Experience:
    Bachelor's degree or the recognized equivalent in education and experience required.
    Minimum (4) four years of experience in accounting, auditing and/or financial analysis required.
    Insurance brokerage/related industry accounting background preferred.
    Prior experience with accounting-related ERP maintenance required (Workday preferred).Prior experience with balance sheet reconciliations required.
    Prior experience working with both the income statement and balance sheet required.
    Prior variance analysis experience required.
