    Position Purpose: The Design Director is responsible for overseeing the entire design department, setting the strategic direction for all design projects, and ensuring the delivery of innovative and high-quality design solutions that meet both client needs and company standards. This role involves leading a team of designers and project managers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, sales, and production teams.

    Objectives of this role:

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Design Leadership: Define and implement the strategic vision for the design department, ensuring alignment with the company's overall objectives. Lead the development of design strategies that enhance product innovation, user experience, and market competitiveness.
    • Team Management and Development: Oversee and support a multidisciplinary design team, including hiring, mentoring, and professional development. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and high performance.
    • Client Engagement and Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders. Act as the senior point of contact for major design projects, ensuring clear communication and alignment of expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Design Excellence and Innovation: Ensure the delivery of exceptional design work that meets client requirements and exceeds industry standards. Promote a culture of creativity, encouraging the exploration of new ideas, technologies, and design methodologies.
    • Process Optimization and Quality Assurance: Develop and refine design processes, tools, and best practices to improve efficiency and product quality. Implement quality control measures to ensure all design outputs meet the required specifications and quality standards.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure a seamless transition from design to manufacturing. Facilitate the resolution of design-related challenges and ensure the successful execution of projects.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • 1-3 years of experience in a design position or industrial design position.
    • Ability to multitask and juggle several responsibilities simultaneously.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

    • Manufacturing industry experience; familiarity with design programs such as Inventor, AutoCAD, Solidworks, or similar.
    • Experience with NetSuite or similar task-tracking software.
    • Strong leadership skills and ability to oversee and mentor a team effectively.
