Job Title: Board Certified/Eligible General Psychiatrist

Location: Walla Walla, WA

Salary:$175,000 - $250,000 per year

The Walla Walla VA Medical Center seeks a highly skilled and independent general psychiatrist to provide care to patients with behavioral health problems. This position involves managing a caseload, providing consultation to various clinical programs, and collaborating with multiple disciplines within behavioral health and medical/surgical specialties.

This is a full-time position that requires the incumbent to be responsible for one or more Behavioral Health programs on the main campus or at outlying clinics associated with the Walla Walla VA Medical Center. The psychiatrist may also participate in Tele-psychiatry duties and be involved in clinical supervision and training of medical students and residents from the University of Washington.

The primary service area of the Walla Walla VA Medical Center spans across seven counties in southeastern Washington, four counties in northeastern Oregon, and four counties in western Idaho, with an estimated veteran population of 65,000. This position requires effective collaboration and communication with multiple stakeholders, including community agencies and clinicians caring for veterans.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of patients with behavioral health problems
Provide consultation to Behavioral Health, Primary Care, and other clinical programs
Collaborate with multiple disciplines within behavioral health and medical/surgical specialties
Participate in Tele-psychiatry duties
Clinical supervision and training of medical students and residents from the University of Washington

Requirements:

Board certified/board eligible general psychiatrist
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong clinical skills and knowledge of behavioral health issues
