    Construction Risk Engineer – Permanent – Middle East – March Start – £200k net plus bonus accommodation pension holidays private health care

    Our client is looking for 4 Construction Risk Engineer to work on the largest most exciting projects in the world.

    Scope of Activities

    Main Responsibilities

    Manage one of the largest Risk Engineering accounts and programs in the region.


    Work closely with other Engineers and leadership to ensure program being delivered is best in class and that services are promoted across other sectors.

    Manage the budget and revenue delivery for this account (and others in the country if this becomes applicable)

    Construction Risk engineering surveys:

    This is the base offering of Risk Engineering, and it is crucial to successful placement of insurance within the construction insurance industry.

    A survey consists of a typically 2-3 day visit to a project, interviews with key management teams and site tours.

    The output is an engineering report which details;

    Description of the site e.g., construction materials, occupancies, exposures.

    An overview of the Project management processes and controls

    An analysis of Loss Prevention/Mitigation features (Fire/ Flood protection features, QA/QC processes, Permit to Work, On Site Risk Assessments etc.)

    A ranking of the quality of the site and recommendations for improvement

    Estimation of possible property damage based on technical standards and guidelines

    Required Skills


    Sound working knowledge of construction standards (construction codes, fire testing, NFPA standards, HSE Standards), understanding of business risk and ability to communicate clearly that risk to the client.


    Identification of Risks pertaining to Insurers on a construction site (physical risk) and identification of suitable mitigations to be implemented.

    The candidate will need to be able to present these risks and mitigations clearly and succinctly to the client

    Exposure to risk assessed driven decision-making is essential – relevant to field of expertise.

    Ability to communicate effectively to all organizational layers


    Ability to be autonomous in the role, taking responsibility in delivering for clients and developing the business in the region.

    IT literacy to include general office systems such as Word, Excel, Power Point (or similar).

    Any experience with other software packages that will enhance the Risk Engineering offering is desirable, although not essential.


    Experience of technical simulation packages for fire modelling, risk assessment, project execution purposes as is relevant to field of expertise.

    Excellent communications in English (Oral and Written), the candidate must have the ability to write detailed engineering reports in clear English

    Candidates Profile

    Work Experience

    10+ years' – 15 years experience in an Engineering role within Industry (Construction industry/Risk Engineering)

    Experience in managing risks within the Construction industry either in Project Management, Construction Management or Planning is highly sought.

    Academic Background

    Engineering Degree in Civil or Mechanical (or similar)

    Chartership is essential

    Candidates with insurance exp will be highly considered for this role
