    Position Summary

    We are seeking a skilled researcher to analyze the influence of cultural contexts on cancer management, from diagnosis to treatment, and assess the psychological impacts of the disease


    This role involves:
    Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data impartially from a multidisciplinary perspective. Enhancing our research integrity and comprehensiveness by integrating insights from social sciences into molecular imaging studies.

    Job Description

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities


    • Programs and manages data using languages such as R, Python, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
    • Employs various data collection tools effectively.
    • Communicates findings and collaborate with a diverse team of specialists.
    • Provides technical support and assistance to faculty Principal Investigators (PIs) with data collection and report generation from clinical informatics systems.
    • Works with PIs to design, perform and evaluate research procedures; confers with PIs to assist in developing plans for research projects and discusses the interpretation of results.
    • Assists PIs in the preparation of manuscripts for publications and preparation of grant proposals to sponsoring agencies; assists in the preparation of amendments to protocols and/or modifications to study design as appropriate.
    • Serves as a resource to clinical research staff, ensuring appropriate procedures and explains policies and procedures; ensures that research projects are completed according to IRB and federal guidelines.
    • Analyzes and assesses the quality of the data from the clinical informatics systems; follows the "data supply chain" to assess system interface constraints and recommend appropriate solutions; researches and recommends new methods and procedures to maintain data standards and improve data quality.
    • Designs and implements educational service programs to support clinical informatics efforts.
    • Provides technical and analytical support for special projects related to external research funding, such as the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute and other projects.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Preferred Qualifications


    • Master's degree in Social Sciences or related fields.
    • Strong programming skills in R, Python, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
    • Experience in data collection and psychological assessment.
    • Interest in psycho-oncology, health psychology, or molecular imaging.
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.
    • Comfortable working in clinical settings and communicating with patients and families.
    • Previous research experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
    • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to communicate in oral and written form with all levels of personnel.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks in a diverse environment.
    • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
    • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and statistical software such as SAS, Stata or SPSS.
    • Must have the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships and to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines.
    Required Qualifications


    Bachelor's degree preferably in a science related field and four years clinical or research experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience totaling eight years.

    Salary Range

    $57, $97,700.00 / Annually

    The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.

    Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
