    Warehouse / Box Truck Driver (No CDL needed)


    Planet Aid is a nonprofit organization focused on collecting and recycling used textiles to benefit the environment and promote sustainable development in underserved communities worldwide. Currently, we are in search of a full-time, versatile warehouse/driver to join our team. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

    Schedule:
    • Weekdays, full-time, starting at 4am
    Pay:
    • $19/hour plus bonus, paid weekly

    The Warehouse/Driver role involves transporting donated materials, loading/unloading, and processing items efficiently within the warehouse. Responsibilities include packaging, bailing, and bagging donated clothing accurately and promptly for shipment. The position incorporates forklift operation, material processing, recycling, and general cleaning using various tools such as rolling carts, fork trucks, and manual labor.

    On the transportation side, the driver will operate trucks of various sizes up to 20-foot box trucks, moving materials between locations and ensuring site maintenance. The daily tasks include collecting donated clothes and shoes, maintaining cleanliness, and disposing of any unusable items around the bins.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other tasks may be assigned):

    Warehouse Duties
    • Unload Trucks
    • Weigh up Carts, Cages, or Cap Sack Stands
    • Organize weighed carts in the designated area
    • Sort and organize all miscellaneous items
    • Maintain a clean working area environment
    Transportation duties
    • Demonstrate safe/efficient driving skills
    • Comply with laws and guidelines
    • Provide good customer service
    • Service donation bins
    • Communicate effectively with management
    • Perform additional job functions as needed

    Requirements:

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Degree and 1 year of experience driving small commercial trucks, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to interpret maps, GPS technology, complete paperwork accurately, and communicate effectively.
    REASONING ABILITY: Interpret various instructions provided.
    OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
    • Pass required screenings
    • Maintain a good driving record
    • Adhere to safety procedures
    • Flexibility to work extra hours when needed
    • Demonstrate safe driving skills
    • Operate a large box truck in metropolitan areas
    • Work in various traffic/weather conditions
    • Follow directions with a positive attitude
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    Includes talking, walking, driving, standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing up to 300 pounds, and having specific vision abilities.
    WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    Exposure to mechanical parts, wet conditions, fumes, and outside weather.
