    TCS070, T4, Band 7 Maximus is searching for a Cyber Security Engineer to join a DoD program based in Arlington, VA


    Position Overview:

    • The Data Security Engineer is responsible for providing subject matter expertise to the Chief Data Officer (CDO) Directorate and to support senior level leadership within the Office of the Deputy Chief Information Officer, Special Access Program Information Technology (DCIO SAP-IT).
    • Develop policies and procedures and provide strategic advice, counsel, and sound recommendations to support and defend policy decisions relative to enhancing data security posture.
    • Create, define, and evolve the "as-is" and "to-be" data security architecture for the DoD SAP-IT data services.
    • Explore opportunities to enhance SAP-IT's data protection capabilities aiming to fulfill and implement the CDO's data strategy

    Responsibilities:

    • Support the client to ensure adherence to Department of Defense guidance and policies relative to data security standards.
    • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Design and implement robust data security controls framework throughout the data lifecycle for the SAP-IT enterprise.
    • Provide expert guidance on data security policies; and offer recommendations on data security initiatives.
    • Work independently and be part of a cross-functional, team-based environment; engage with diverse stakeholders and working groups.
    • Develops methodologies for data protection consistent with the overall CDO data strategy.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging threats, and regulatory requirements related to data security.
    • Leverage technical proficiency in a range of data protection technologies, encompassing data classification, privacy solutions, behavioral analytics, encryption, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools

    Required Skills:

    • Candidates must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
    • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field. Four years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
    • Strong knowledge of various database technologies (SQL, NoSQL), data integration (ETL/ELT) frameworks, data security (ZTA, ICAM, ACCM) and DoD cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
    • 8+ years of related experience in developing data security standards in the execution and management of large-scale Information Technology (IT) Projects.
    • Two plus years of direct experience in the following: * Leading and executing enterprise-wide IT solutions in the private or public sector. * Project management of technically and functionally diverse and complex IT Projects
    • Implementing detailed management techniques such as Earned Value Analysis
    • IT solution architectural analysis and design
    • Software and system developmental and acceptance testing
    • Acts as manager and overall point of contact for a specific project within an overall enterprise-wide IT solution Project.
    • Knowledge of data architecture risks and advanced technology solutions.
    • Demonstrated ability to translate complex security data models and analyses into simple, actionable components.

    Desired Key Skills and Abilities:

    • Prior experience working with Special Access Program (SAP).
    • Ability to work in a dynamic work environment; coordinate and perform multiple assignments
    • Previous experience working at the OSD, Joint Staff, or Service Staff level.
    • Strong ability to develop collaborative and productive relationships with a wide range of cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
    • Deep understanding of security frameworks, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Ability to absorb and synthesize information from various sources and develop effective products for senior DoD leadership.

    Pay Transparency Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment.

    Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards.

    Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
