We are in search of a Sr. PSM Specialist for our manufacturing plant located in Florence, KY.

In this role, you will be accountable for overseeing and maintaining the Process Safety Management (PSM) program for ammonia refrigeration systems, equipment, and personnel, all under minimal supervision. Your responsibilities will involve updating and upholding the PSM Program guidelines, collaborating with Safety, and ensuring compliance with facility maintenance and refrigeration protocols.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with OSHA's Process Safety Management Standard, EPAs Chemical Accident Prevention Provision Risk Management Plan (RMP) regulation, and all relevant federal, state, and local laws.
• Providing guidance and coaching to leaders on environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies and procedures, and supporting the EHS department to guarantee continuous OSHA and EPA compliance.
• Managing all fourteen (14) elements programs of the OSHA Process Safety Management standard and additional requirements of the EPA Risk Management Plan regulation.
• Documenting and maintaining the facility's Risk Management Plan as needed, and submitting updates and renewals to meet EPA requirements.
• Conducting and documenting PHA/hazard evaluations, overseeing training on operating procedures, and coordinating PSM/RMP training for employees and contractors.
• Leading audits for site management of change (MOC) and pre-startup safety review process (PSSR), as well as assisting in developing maintenance plans for equipment with ammonia.
• Conducting PSM/RMP incident investigations and root cause analyses, updating reports, and ensuring emergency planning and response procedures are up-to-date.
• Coordinating with site leadership to review recommendations from PSM-related activities promptly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Safety, Environmental, Safety Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of State/Federal EPA and OSHA compliance requirements, regulatory procedures, and legislative processes.
• Experience in PSM and Ammonia, as well as implementing safety programs in manufacturing and agricultural settings.
• Proficiency in hazard evaluation techniques and software applications to track key performance indicators.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with project management abilities and critical thinking skills.
