    Procon Consulting, a fast-growing professional services firm in McLean, VA with expertise in construction management (CM), construction-related technology, space planning, and facilities management, seeks an onsite Mechanical Engineer to prepare design documents and/or scopes of work for A/E services, Design/Build services and construction work.

    Provide decisive guidance and direction regarding the management of technical aspects of engineering related to building structures. Responsible for the overall management, in terms of technical quality, cost and schedule.
    Procon Consulting operates as an owner's representative throughout the United States for government construction projects. We specialize in capital improvement projects in government construction & engineering.

    All candidates must meet the following skills and qualifications:
    Qualifications & SkillsHave a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution of higher learning. The individual shall have a minimum of six (6) years of experience in both design and construction.

    Ability to quickly understand and master the requirements of the local state and federal jurisdictions and the requirements of each considering the Requirements of the Project.

    Possess Communication, Language, and Software Skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacyResponsibilities & DutiesResponsible for the engineering analysis, development, design of and the preparation of complete plans and specifications for new work and improvements.

    Provides technical oversight and evaluation concerning all engineering disciplines as they pertain to all project work.

    Independently responsible and accountable for determining the action necessary in the development and completion of design projects, coordination of a project staff which may include architects, engineers, engineering technicians, draftsmen, and clerk/typists and review of the final contract documents.

    Surveys existing job conditions and confers with requesting medical center personnel to determine exact scope of project, phasing, impact on other medical center services and other specific design requirements.

    Determines how project(s) will impact medical center based on results of a risk assessment that could have a severe impact on patient care.$115,000 - $135,000 a yearBenefitsInterested and qualified candidates please submit a cover letter and a resume.
