Job Summary:

Are you a skilled Plumber who prefers working over selling? The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for experienced Plumbers to handle the installation, maintenance, and repair of sanitation units, water and heating systems at the Arizona State Prison Complex – Phoenix.

Job Duties:

Supervise and direct inmate crews
Maintain plumbing tools and equipment inventory
Repair water heaters, sinks, toilets, and boilers
Install and clean plumbing drains, fixtures, and water lines
Respond to emergency calls after hours
Drive on State business
Perform other relevant tasks

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

General building and maintenance
Water heaters, boilers, drainage systems
Building codes and safety practices
Commercial gas lines
Basic blueprints
Computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suites

Skill in:

Effective communication
Maintenance scheduling
Time management
Building relationships

Ability to:

Lift/Carry up to 50lbs
Push/Pull up to 50lbs
Read and understand blueprints, sketches
Work in a prison setting

Selective Preference(s):

Minimum one (1) year of plumbing experience

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Applicant must pass background check, drug test, and medical exam. Driving requirements apply if job involves vehicle use.

All new hires must complete Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
