    ** Transportation Manager**

    **Job Details**

    **Division: Advantage Metals Recycling LLC**

    **Location: Kansas City , MO , United States**

    ****Basic Job Functions:****

    Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

    Consistently achieves results listed above while exhibiting workplace behaviors consistent with company values and core competency expectations

    Manage the AMR Transportation fleet of internal drivers, owner operators and contracted carriers.

    Ensure that the Company is in compliance with DOT requirements, as well as all applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, statutes and ordinances.

    Work with the centralized dispatch department to ensure all trucks are efficiently routed in order to optimize driver productivity and asset utilization.

    Ability to proactively drive change within the organization. Ability to understand that change is constant and we will continually strive to improve our processes and information systems.

    Capture and monitor asset utilization. Develop and implement initiatives that improve asset utilization.

    Continually analyze required vs. available AMR Transportation capacity and develop options to increase or decrease as needed to match the Company needs given the market demand.

    ****Minimum Qualifications:****

    Bachelors degree (logistics, business, or related field).

    Basic understanding of DOT, State, and Local regulations, and the ability to successfully apply and communicate these regulations.

    Minimum of three (3) years experience in the administration and management of a high-volume transportation/trucking and a minimum of three (3) years experience managing and supervising people.

    Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ability to extract, analyze and present data in a meaningful form.

    Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.

    ****Preferred Qualifications:****

    Six Sigma or other analytical experience desirable.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual Spanish speaking is a plus.

    Effective communication skills with people at all levels of employees within the organization.

    Knowledge of diesel truck and trailer maintenance.

    Experience in recycling, waste or heavy hauling environment preferred.
