    CONFIGURATION & DATA MANAGEMENT HW/SW SPECIALIST

    Job Description: The Configuration & Data Management HW/SW Specialist is the focal point for management of the total RATS CLS/TSSC Program configuration management. This position is located at the Training System Support Center (TSSC) and reports directly to TSSC Manager or Program Manager. Designs and establishes configuration management documentation required for assigned Programs. Analyzes proposed product design changes to determine the effect on the overall system. Establishes baselines and authorizes the release of engineering drawings and other contract artifacts produced by the program team. Provides advice and guidance on best practices, methods, procedures, and requirements to individuals responsible for the creation of documentation and/or engineering artifact. Ensures adherence to processes during execution of daily tasks and provides quality products in support of our customers. Acts as liaison between management and other functional groups to resolve issues regarding configuration documentation or the processing of changes using internal tools. Performs audits to verify compliance with contract requirements.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of job area and in-depth knowledge of configuration management and data management for hardware and software when required.
    • Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization and may have multiple programs assigned with minimal oversight or direction.
    • Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes, and approaches.
    • Responsible for managing contract and supplier deliverables, processing hardware and software changes, and providing configuration status accounting reporting.
    • Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products.
    • Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.
    • Review USAF and DoD technical and publication changes to determine if changes to the device baseline are required.
    • Coordinate all required changes to device baselines.
    • Ensure generation, implementation, and maintenance of Configuration Management procedures.
    • Review and provide status on C&DM activities to higher-level management.
    • Interface with appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ensure that all data may be recovered/restored in case of a system crash or repository corruption.
    • Ensure archival of configuration management items.
    • Provide status reports on hardware and software configuration items.
    • Provide configuration management services to sites and the TSSC.
    • Supports all aspects of the quality program in the RATS TSSC - scheduling, auditing, and reporting of QA activities.
    • Responsible for maintaining configuration control of all Training System Support Center (TSSC) configuration items and for ensuring all files distributed meet current standards for operation.
    • Maintains the configuration management library, including historical records for all configuration items.
    • Correlates and tracks Processes Deficiency Reports, Corrective Action Requests, and Preventive Actions.
    • Maintains all required QA/CM documentation for the life of the contract.
    • Helps with tracking TSCOs and releases the tested, approved updates to all RATS Sites.
    • Reviews and/or helps write plans and procedures for the TSSC and the RATS program.
    • Participates in the Joint Configuration Control Working Group (JCCWG).
    • Manages assigned projects as required.
    • Additional duties as assigned.
    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
    • DoD IAT level II Certification is required or will be obtained within 180 days from start of employment.
    • Requires comprehensive level knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
    • In-depth knowledge of project management preferred.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills with a track record of success and continuous improvements.
    • Strong leadership, delegation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
    • Familiarity with six sigma and lean tools.
    • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills and able to interface/support large teams.
    • Direct experience conducting Functional and Physical Configuration Audits.

    Security Clearance and Responsibilities
    • Must either have a current security clearance or be fully eligible for the requisite clearance.
    • Must comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures.
    • Employees will be responsible for proper handling of classified information, materials, and equipment.
    • Employees will be required to execute a non-disclosure agreement prior to accessing controlled information.
