    Description


    American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down/Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and the ability to read cardiac strips, with night shift availability.

    Details

    Step-down unit in a hospital setting, focused on lower-acuity patients not requiring drips
    Typical patient ratio of 1:4, with a maximum of 1:5 during emergencies
    Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
    Weekday shifts with every other weekend required
    Telemetry monitoring performed on the unit
    Cerner EMR experience required
    13-week contract with possibility of extension
    Requirements

    Active WV or Compact RN license required (pending license acceptable)
    Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, including at least 1 year in Med/Surg Telemetry and 2 years in a Step-Down setting
    Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (American Heart Association-issued)
    Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips required
    IV insertion skills required
    Minimum of 2 manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
    SSN and DOB required for consideration
    Copy of driver's license required for consideration
    Additional Information

    Scrubs are not provided; required colors are burgundy and/or white
    Orientation is held every other Thursday
    Non-billable online modules (averaging 8 hours) must be completed prior to the start of the contract
    Candidates must have a permanent address greater than 100 miles from the facility; candidates between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the same rate
    Current or former permanent employees of any Vandalia Health System facility (including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for a travel contract at this facility
    Former permanent employees of this facility must have been separated for at least 2 years before being eligible to return as a traveler
    Any previous probationary actions on license will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
    The facility has a strict attendance policy — no more than 2–3 call-offs are permitted per contract, and any called-off shifts must be made up
    RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application
    Travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
