    Description

    Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

    Company: Top Construction Company

    Salary Range: $28 - $39,757.00

    • Operates a power grader on construction and maintenance work; blades sub-grades; blades finish grade to engineering specifications.
    • Operates equipment to clean ditches, fill trucks, and operate mobile hydraulically operated excavation equipment.
    • Performs daily safety inspections of assigned equipment and routine service and maintenance.
    • Must be able to meet work schedule and attendance standards.
    • Thorough knowledge of the operation, maintenance, adapt-abilities, limitations, and safety precautions of the particular equipment.

    MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

    High school diploma or GED required, along with considerable experience in the operation and maintenance of heavy construction equipment. A valid Florida driver license is necessary.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate heavy duty trucks and equipment and exert force when needed.
    • Data Conception: Requires the ability to compare characteristics of work sites, materials hauled, and equipment used.
    • Interpersonal Communication: Ability to effectively communicate and interact with others, including the public and co-workers.
    • Language Ability: Must be able to communicate effectively in Standard English.
    • Intelligence: Requires common sense understanding and the ability to make independent judgments.
    • Verbal Aptitude: Ability to record and deliver information effectively.
    • Numerical Aptitude: Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
    • Spatial Aptitude: Ability to inspect items for proper dimensions.
    • Motor Coordination: Requires accurate coordination in operating vehicles and equipment.
    • Manual Dexterity: Must have excellent eye/hand/foot coordination.
    • Color Discrimination: Ability to differentiate between colors and shades.
    • Interpersonal Temperament: Must be adaptable, avoid violent behavior, and perform under stress.
    • Physical Communication: Requires the ability to talk, hear, and understand communications through telephone and radio.
