    Summary:


    The Community Financial Consultant is a 9 to 12-month extensive in-house training program developed to prepare incumbents in their transition to a Financial Advisor.

    Through a combination of training, education, and on-site experience the Financial Consultant will develop a broad understanding of the full wealth management program and product mix, while simultaneously gaining knowledge and experience in the use of appropriate sales techniques.

    The Financial Consultant will work collaboratively with Financial Advisors to provide appropriate sales support and assistance.

    This may include visiting clients, discussing product terms and conditions, performing certain calculations, following up on outstanding documentation and performing basic administrative duties.

    They will also be expected to begin building a network of prospects and referral contacts.

    Job Description:
    Wealth Management Procedural Knowledge

    Rotates through each key functional areas of the wealth management process including how to process new product applications, underwriting, and closing, and provides support and assistance in each area.

    Becomes familiar with internal policies, procedures, practices, and personnel as well as all available wealth management products and services to affirm their understanding and knowledge of this information, internal testing may be utilized.

    Provide appropriate support and assistance to Financial Advisors to ensure designated wealth management origination targets are achieved.
    Support Financial Advisors in market research and presents recommendations and alternatives to meet the client's needs for: Retirement Planning, Tax Management, Business

    Continuity/Succession,

    Estate Planning, Education Funding, Life Insurance, etc.
    Wealth Management Product Knowledge
    Provides appropriate support and assistance to Financial Advisors to ensure designated wealth management origination targets are achieved.

    Evaluate customers relative to financial needs, current holdings, and available investment capital by listening to and uncovering their needs and educating them about the bank and investment program products and services that are most appropriate for their situation.

    Prospect Review and Support

    Interacts with all departments of the Bank, providing products and services to business and consumer customers, to generate referrals from these departments.

    Provides feedback to referring individuals and departments on the status of the referral.
    Wealth Management Relationship Management

    Support Columbia Bank's investment strategy suggesting specific investments and insurance products, for client approval, including separately managed investment accounts, Mutual Funds, Annuities, Equities, Fixed Income Investments, Corporate and Tax-Exempt Bonds, and Life Insurance.

    Monitor customer's portfolio and make recommendations consistent with changes in economic and financial condition as well as the customer's needs and objectives.

    Supports clients, Financial Advisors, and employee inquiries on new and renewal accounts in accordance with the practices, policies, and procedures of Columbia Bank.

    Maintains an ongoing client relationship by conducting periodic reviews with each client on a scheduled and "as needed" basis.
    Lead Generation
    Generates additional referrals from personal networking, seminars, and presentations to community groups.
    Industry Knowledge
    Keeps abreast of new planning tools, products, and resources, changing regulations and professional standards, including continuing education requirements.
    Maintains a firm understanding of bank products, policies, and practices.
    Other Responsibilities
    Performs other job-related duties as may be assigned.

    Requirements:


    FINRA Series 7 & 63 licensed; Series 65 or 66 licensed and appropriate state registrations OR ability to acquire series 65/66 within 180 days of start date.

    Degree and/or other professional certifications are helpful; if you do not already have a CFP or degree, our Tuition Reimbursement program can help you obtain one
    Sales experience is helpful, but not required
