    Description
    Responsibilities:
    • Designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems by developing and testing specifications and methods.
    • Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs and applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials.
    • Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and properties.
    • Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; and soliciting observations from operators.
    • Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
    • Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
    • Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
    • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
    • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; and requesting special services.
    • Maintains system and product database by writing computer programs and entering data.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    • Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
    • Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management and the rest of the Team.
    • Completes technical studies.
    • Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
    • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
    • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
    • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, and recommending actions.
    • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
    • Maintains project database by writing computer programs, entering, and backing up data.
    • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    • Approves new equipment by conducting tests, ensuring adherence to codes, and making modifications.
    • Installs new equipment by establishing, adjusting, calibrating, and testing performance.
    • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules, conducting tests, and troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions.
    • Calls for special equipment service, evaluates service contracts, and maintains equipment inventories.
    • Evaluates proposed equipment by conducting tests and evaluations.
    • Improves equipment performance by studying machine-patient interaction, conferring with equipment users, developing modifications, and collaborating with manufacturers.
    • Maintains supplies & inventory by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing, and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
    • Oversees and assesses existing processes and workflows.
    • Optimizes productivity by designing, implementing, and testing new procedures.
    • Assembles reports to document process status and changes.
    • Tracks metrics to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades.
    • Communicates findings and proposals to upper management.
    • Provides thorough instructions for the successful implementation of process changes.
    • Conducts risk assessments.
    • Assesses compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
    • Contributes to departmental efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
    Qualifications/Skills:
    • CAD Practical Experience - SolidWorks preferred, but others considered.
    • Strong attention to detail. Ability to see beyond their Silo - aware of the impact of change.
    • Fast Learner - Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems.
    • Strong Analytical and math skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient with computers and MS Office products
    • Knowledge of process engineering software systems
    • Familiarity with Medical Device regulations
    • Formal Documentation skills
    Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
    • Successful Experience is more valuable than an advanced degree.
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred
    • Previous experience in design, quality, or business process engineering
    • Previous experience working with CAD and AutoCAD (prefer SolidWorks)
    • Knowledge of Sterilization, Calibration, Clinical Procedures, Lab testing, and Documentation Control is very valuable.
