    Job Description


    American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Family Birthing Center (Labor & Delivery) night shift position in Salida, CO, requiring a minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience and an active CO or compact RN license.

    Responsibilities

    • Work setting is a Family Birthing Center (FBC) within a hospital environment
    • Patient population includes labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) patients, including neonates and mother/baby couplets
    • Night shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, 36 hours per week
    • Weekend availability is required
    • Holiday coverage may be required
    • 13-week contract
    • Directly monitors and supports patients through labor, delivery, and postpartum phases, including breastfeeding assistance and newborn care education
    • Collaborates with nursery nurses in the care of mother/baby couplets and assists physicians with procedures
    • Documents all patient events and education in the electronic medical record
    • Communicates patient condition verbally and in writing to physicians and nursing supervisors
    • May assist staff with emergencies in other nursing units as needed
    • This is a Rapid Response/Crisis position

    Requirements

    • Active CO RN license or compact RN license accepted
    • Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required
    • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher from an accredited program required
    • Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
    • Preferred certifications: PALS and NRP
    • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
    • Must be able to stand for extended periods, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch
    • Close, color, and peripheral vision required for patient care and monitoring
