    We're looking for a Cardiovascular Sonographer - Permanent, working in the Healthcare Systems & Services industry in Georgia, United States.

    Job Summary

    This role is located in Sumter, South Carolina

    Under the direction of the vascular lab manager and medical director, the Vascular Sonographer performs all vascular lab exams. Provides quality patient care using vascular lab physiological and ultrasound equipment.

    Assists with clinical rotations in both in-patient and out-patient settings as the schedule dictates and participates in after hours and on-call services.

    Accountabilities

    Performs most modalities of peripheral vascular studies (i.e. duplex imaging, Doppler and plethysmography of upper and lower extremity vasculature, abdominal viscera, carotid vasculature and/or intracranial vessels). Performs vascular lab procedures using independent judgement during the exam to accurately differentiate between normal and abnormal findings. Exams must follow IAC approved scanning protocol and the Smart Protocols must be utilized when possible. Reviews images and paperwork to ensure quality exams are complete, thorough and prepared for review by reading physicians.
    Rotates to multiple vascular lab locations as scheduled and required by the IAC. Participates in the daily workflow by watching the technologist worklist to ensure timely patient care. Schedules exams through the transport system if applicable. Participates in the Vascular Lab after hours, on-call, weekend and holiday schedules.

    Operates all vascular lab testing equipment and software packages including but not limited to ultrasound and physiological equipment, EMR and Structured Reporting and PACS.

    Proficient in the use of telephone, printers, and fax machines.
    Reports any equipment issues to the appropriate personnel and removes equipment from service. Cleans the equipment and work areas daily and stocks rooms with supplies and linen. Maintains up to date maintence logs to include the monthly cleaning log and the equipment down time log.
    Attends staff and departmental meetings as well as educational conferences. Participates in the discussions. Keeps abreast of changes in the field and participates in collecting data, images and articles as necessary.

    Experience Required for Your Success

    Minimum Requirements

    Associate's Degree - Graduate of a formal/Director approved Radiology or Sonography program.
    One-year Vascular Sonography experience performing non-invasive vascular lab studies. Will consider clinical rotations during a formal educational program as experience.

    Required Certifications, Registries, Licenses

    ARDMS- RVT or CCI(RVS)

    Other Required Skills and Experience

    Basic Computer Skills
    Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)
    Proficient computer skills (word processing)

    Other Qualifications or Experience

    Thorough knowledge of vascular anatomy and hemodynamics
    Medical Terminology - Preferred
