The below job opportunity is with one of our Biotech clients who researches develop and commercializes drugs. The company focuses primarily on antiviral drugs used in the treatment of HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and influenza, including Harvoni and Sovaldi.

    Position: Laboratory Operations (LabOps) Project Manager

    Location: Foster City CA 94404

    Duration: 6 months

    Job Description:
    • The LabOps Project Manager will oversee projects pertaining to the purchase, installation, and
      qualification of new analytical instrumentation, equipment, and software.
    • This individual will work with project teams consisting of cross-functional team members from metrology, validation, analytical operations, quality assurance, and facilities operations to ensure efficient completion of these laboratory-based projects.
    • Additional projects may also include process-improvements related to lab
      functions.
    • This position can be considered for a hybrid-role, where the individual may work-from-home (WFH) 0-3days/week.
    • This requires the project manager to work on-site 2-5 days/week.
    • Specific schedules and WFH durations will be determined on an individual basis and may change over the duration of employment based on business needs.
    Job Responsibilities
    • Manage laboratory operations projects, including new instruments and equipment, new
      software, and process improvements
    • Work closely with Analytical Operations personnel to determine laboratory needs and user
      requirements
    • Collaborate with Analytical Operations and Procurement in obtaining and reviewing quotes,
      facilitating POs, and following-up on shipping & delivery status
    • Assist in the demonstration of new laboratory systems
    • Work with Facilities Operations in site planning and preparation for instrument installations
    • Collaborate with validation team members during qualification activities
    • Review documents pertaining to system implementations, including installation requirements,
    • protocols, procedures, work instructions, and guidelines
    • Communicate project requirements, goals, and timelines effectively
    • Assist in key project decision making efforts
      Present project summaries and status updates to large groups through PowerPoint and verbal
      communication
    • Organize meetings with vendors and the Vendor Service Team as needed
    • Apply knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) concepts.
    Required Years of Experience:
    • 2+ years of Project Management experience, 2+ years of Pharmaceutical Industry experience
    Top 3 Required Skill Sets:
    • Soft Skills: Communication (written & verbal)
    • Technical Experience: Experience using/maintaining analytical lab instruments
    • Project Management Experience
    Top 3 Nice to Have Skill Sets:
    • Familiar with Facilities & Utilities work/processes
    • Familiarity with instrument validation/qualification
    • GMP experience
