    Description


    Directdefense is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Finance to lead our financial operations and strategic planning, ensuring alignment with company objectives and driving sustainable growth in a dynamic cybersecurity industry.' The Director of Finance plays a key role in developing, monitoring, and evaluating overall corporate strategy with the COO and executive team, with emphasis on bottom line performance, working capital, and enhancing shareholder value.

    The Director of Finance provides financial insights to help make better decisions regarding strategy development and execution.

    The Director of Finance must interact effectively with all parts of the company and be viewed as a trusted business advisor by all employees, not just the President and COO.

    Critical outcomes include supporting the executive team with key financial information and operational analytics, and driving a culture of accountability in managing the business, adding value to operating businesses and voicing well-substantiated dissenting opinions, as appropriate.

    The responsibilities include planning, operations, financial reporting, risk management and treasury.
    ResponsibilitiesPlanningAssist in formulating the company's strategic direction and supporting tactical initiativesMonitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plansDevelop financial and tax strategiesManage the capital request and budgeting processesDevelop performance measures that support the company's strategic directionOperationsParticipate in key decisions as a member of the executive management teamMaintain in-depth relations with all members of the management teamManage the accounting, payroll, tax, and treasury functionsManage any third parties to which functions have been outsourcedOversee the company's transaction processing systemsImplement operational best practicesFinancial ReportingOversee the issuance of financial informationReport financial results to the board of advis ors, and any future board of directors, as appropriateRisk ManagementUnderstand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profileConstruct and monitor reliable control systemsMaintain appropriate insurance coverageEnsure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirementsEnsure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agenciesReport risk issues to the board of advisors (and any future board of directors)

    Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendationsTreasuryMonitor cash balances and cash forecastsArrange for debt and equity financing, as requiredMaintain banking relationshipsRequired QualificationsMinimum of 15 years progressive experience in accounting or finance positionsExcellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic teamDemonstrated experience in financial management and accountingDemonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systemsProven effectiveness leading professionals in finance and accountingTechnologically savvy, with an ability to point to examples of new processes and systems that increased efficiency in a fast-moving environmentFlexible and a self-starter; able to multi-task while also being highly detail-orientedUnquestionable integrity and credibilityCertificationsCPA or CMA preferredEducation RequirementsBachelors degree in Accounting, or Finance, requiredMBA, preferredHow to Apply:
