- Perform complex setups from programs on multiple machine types to ensure that completed parts conform to print and process specifications.
- Demonstrate the ability and willingness to assist and act as a technical resource for other machinists and mentor NIMS Apprentice Students.
- Trouble shoot issues with setups and tooling, change setup sheets as required and make changes to the machining process to reduce cycle times and improve quality.
- Determine program edits and trouble shoot, reason, and understand program and part requirements to adjust speeds and feeds in order to machine parts properly and efficiently.
- Sharpen, grind, and modify tooling, and accurately inspect finished parts using microscopes, tool maker's scope, micrometers, OGP, gage pins, thread gages, indicators, and calipers.
- Adjustment machine off-sets to achieve required tolerances.
- Maintain adherence to production schedules and ensure quality inspections are completed in accordance with established procedures.
- AAS degree or Diploma in Computer Integrated Manufacturing or related discipline
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a Swiss Machining environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
