POSITION TITLE

School Nurse

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a dedicated School Nurse to join our team under the Head of School's guidance. The School Nurse will be crucial in maintaining the health and well-being of our students and staff, promoting a safe and nurturing educational environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Health Assessment: Evaluate students' and staff's health, monitor vital signs, and overall well-being.
• First Aid and Emergency Care: Provide immediate care for injuries and illnesses on school premises, following emergency protocols.
• Medication Administration: Administer medications as per school policy and maintain accurate records.
• Health Education: Educate on health topics including nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
• Health Promotion: Develop programs for physical and mental well-being.
• Health Records: Maintain confidential health records ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Collaboration: Work with teachers and counselors to address students' health needs.
• Immunization Compliance: Ensure students meet immunization requirements.
• Documentation and Reporting: Keep detailed health records and provide reports as needed.
• Emergency Preparedness: Participate in drills and assist in creating emergency plans.
• All other assigned duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current RN license in MN.
• CPR and First Aid certified.
• Experience in pediatric or school nursing is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion, empathy, and genuine concern for students' well-being.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Organizational and record-keeping skills.
