    MAJOR FUNCTION

    Support the Assembly Process and Purchasing Team by driving the development of a part certification program and supplier quality measures. Develop, plan and drive the implementation of prevention based quality controls to facilitate continuous reductions in purchase part variations and defects. Manage and develop the quality system associated with ensuring the conformance of incoming material and the disposition of non-conforming material. Assist in the creation, implementation and management of a corrective Action System in order to create a quality culture and improve customer satisfaction.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Support Corrective Action Process
    • Participate in iCAR program and drive component quality issues to resolution with vendors.
    • Investigate reported external quality issues that are believed to be purchased part driven and present findings via iCARs or TFRs.
    • Perform or lead root cause analysis on purchased part quality issues and work issue through permanent solution phase of corrective action process. Generate CA document (SCAR) on purchased part or product quality issues. Communicate and instruct suppliers on the use of a corrective action process (SCAR) and quality tools & techniques.
    • Use purchased part quality measure data to make recommendations to assist in development of permanent solutions to purchased part issues.
    Support Assembly & Service Process Quality Management
    • Coordinate with Process Engineer to identify assembly and service quality issues resulting from purchase part non conformances.
    Support Product Reliability Growth
    • Participate in New Product Programs to ensure key characteristics on purchased parts or products are defined and communicated to the supplier.
    • Identify and communicate purchased parts or products with historical quality issues to prevent propagation into new products.
    • Participate in QC signoff on New Product Programs
    • Facilitate or participate in PFMEA activities as required to identify designs with a high potential for failure and assist in developing more robust solutions.
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION:

    BSME, BSEE, BSMET, BSEET or equivalent experience

    EXPERIENCE:

    Min of 2 years of Quality Engineering, Reliability engineering or Test Engineering experience with Mobile Equipment or equivalent

    KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems & components
    • Proficient in quality analysis tools such as 8D, SPC, PFMEA etc. Strong problem solving skills with ability to teach basic problem solving techniques and facilitate problem solving team events.
    • Experience in developing part certification processes and vendor quality measures. Strong knowledge of fabrication based quality control methods, tools and techniques.

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Self motivated with a high level of initiative

    • Fluent English

    • Able to lead and facilitate cross functional teams
    COMPUTER SKILLS:
    • Proficient in use of MS Office software, Excel. Word, PowerPoint
    • High skill level and experienced user of MS Access
    • Working knowledge of ERP systems, such as Baan
    • Capability to learn new software
