    Description

    Overview:

Half the world still doesn't have stable Internet – want to play a critical role in changing that? Beamlink helps carriers, ISPs, and local governments expand cell service with a new network architecture of lunchbox-sized cell towers. These cell sites, called Bentocells, address the historic bottleneck preventing carriers from expanding beyond cities. Our dynamic and trailblazing engineering team designs these in-house and the firmware, software, and network architectures that make them shine. Join us today

    Role Description:

We are looking for an electrical engineer with expertise and experience in RF design. You will play an integral role in the development of a cellular base station RF system. You will have the opportunity to contribute to every design stage, including defining system requirements, high-level system design, component selection, circuit simulation, circuit design & PCB layout, performance testing, and device certification.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design embedded RF circuitry, including integrating amplifiers, filters, duplexers, and other RF devices onto PCBs
    • Design schematics and layout microstrip designs for new PCB designs and modify existing RF board designs
    • Explore new techniques for cellular frontend amplification and filtering at broad frequency ranges, sub-6GHz.
    • Support pre-compliance and 3rd party certification testing for radio equipment using requirements like FCC, CE, and RED.
    • Derive top-level specifications for RF links
    • Analyze antenna systems, including estimating antenna performance and configuration
    • Troubleshoot RF issues from the board level to the system level
    • Design beamforming antenna technology using Matlab models and implement it into prototypes
    • Operate test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and waveform generators in a lab setting

    Required Qualifications:

    • Previous experience and knowledge in reading electrical schematics, BOMs, PCB layouts, assembly drawings, gain pattern graphs, and technical documentation/datasheets
    • Experience with selecting RF devices, including antennas by balancing various criteria, including cost, schedule, and capability
    • Experience with PCB Design, preferably Altium Designer
    • Experience with digital signal modulation types and cellular waveforms (E-UTRA, 5G-NR)
    • Basic knowledge of RF principles (signal strength, EVM, noise, frequency bands, propagation modeling, signal analysis)

    Additional Preferred Qualifications:

    • 2+ years of experience working with RF circuitry, including work from top-level system design to PCB implementation to physical testing and product implementation
    • Experience with LTE and/or 5G specifications such as 3GPP TS136.104
    • Experience with interfacing with testing labs and RF compliance agencies
    • Experience in sending devices through certification (FCC, CE, RED), and implementing design changes based on the results
    • Experience in designing an RF link budget and validating it based on real-world data collected
    • Experience with basic programming languages, including Python
    • Experience in testing a product end-to-end

    Salary/Benefits:

    • Flexible work schedule with access to overtime pay
    • Competitive salary commensurate with relevant experience
    • Stock options
    • Unlimited Paid Time Off
    • Health Insurance
    • Commuter Benefits
    • Hybrid with access to additional flexible workspaces
