Assists in the preparation and performance of surgical and cytology specimen examination.
# Responsible for surgical and cytology pathology specimen accessioning.
# Descriptions will include dictation (utilizing Dragon) of Gross findings and block submission data. Assists pathologists with performance of frozen sections by tissue selection, freezing, cutting, staining, or other handling techniques in preparation for slide interpretation.
# Works directly with anatomic pathology leadership in developing new tests or trouble-shooting established ones.
# Utilizes computer entry and data management as it relates to workflow and report generation.
# Maintains or supervises maintenance of pap files and histology-cytology correlation study set.
# Works with anatomic pathology leadership in developing and maintaining quality control procedures.
# Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.

Bachelor's degree
ASCP licensure for Cytology or equivalent or registry eligible (for new graduates)
O = Occasional, represents 1 to 25% or up to 30 minutes in a 2 hour workday.
F = Frequent, represents 26 to 50% or up to 1 hour of a 2 hour workday.
C = Continuous, represents 51% to 100% or up to 2 hours of a 2 hour workday.
