    Description
    Assists surgeons, anesthetist and registered nurses in the delivery of perioperative care to patients.

    Under the direction of the registered nurse, acts as a primary scrub person handling surgical instruments, equipment and supplies necessary during a procedure.


    Qualifications Education:

    • Graduate from an approved Surgical Technologist program.

    Experience
    • Previous OR surgical experience preferredBasic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
    • Currently registered with New Hampshire Board of Medical TechniciansIndividuals must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities and to possess the necessary physical requirements, with or without the aid of mechanical devices to safely perform the essential functions of the job:1.
    Ability to deliver patient care in a manner that is appropriate to the demographics and/ or specific needs of the patient population served by the hospital.2.

    Demonstrates proficiency in assessing, responding and adapting treatment of care to meet the needs of the patient population served by the hospital.

    Physical requirements include ability to bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist; bending the legs at knee to come to rest on knee or knees; bending the body downward by bending leg and spine; extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction; standing for sustained periods of time; moving about on foot to accomplish tasks; using upper extremities to press outward; using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion; raising objects from a lower to a higher position of moving objects horizontally from position-to-position; picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm; applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm; perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.

    4. Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.

    Primary functions include activities in which incumbent must convey detailed or important spoken instruction to patients, families, physicians, staff and other employees.5.
