    Vice President - USA Mid-Market


    In one of our most important markets - the USA, you represent the entire Backbase product: Our Engagement Banking Platform across different verticals such as Retail and Business Banking from Onboarding to Servicing to Loan origination.

    We are looking at you to make a real impact with our customers as a domain expert that evangelizes Backbase and connects our platform to the needs and priorities of our customers.

    Our prospects and customers trust your experience and understanding of their unique challenges and you are able to articulate our product value, vision and roadmap matching those challenges.

    We expect someone that can genuinely help our customers and steer them towards a value based RoI conversation.

    From every engagement, you carefully bring back actionable feedback to either your own team or to diverse product teams located globally and help prioritize the needs for the US Mid-Market.


    You are passionate about our award winning products that help our customers to think beyond banking and offer innovative solutions for the daily financial needs of their users - whether it's a Community bank or a progressive Credit Union in the US.

    Working closely with your product development teams, you build on top of our leading global Backbase product and deliver on the specific needs of your region.

    You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and work on the smallest details of customer requirements and market needs to ensure we build the optimal product for our customers.

    You do this while extensively collaborating with global product leadership to build an exciting strategy and vision that will set us up for future success with customers in your region
    Your main tasks and responsibilities include:


    Subject Matter Expert / Domain Expert - Credit Unions and Community Banks - This is a must have as we expect you to be the leading trusted voice for prospects and customers in this domain.

    Product Strategy - Defining and driving our engagement banking product vision for your region together with your team, global product leadership, Backbase US leadership and other internal stakeholders, taking into account customer / prospect requirements and market developments;
    Frontline Obsession - Establishing strong and trusted relationships with customers, internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure we deliver a great product; Reflect and promote the voice of the customer into product development (all the direct feedback, experience, and stories of the company's customers, future customers, and other stakeholders); Strategic advisor during sales cycles & projects from a Product Point of view
    Leadership - Inspire and lead your product team composed of product manager(s) and product owners as well as their offshore engineering squads through leading by example; ensuring true ownership & accountability and actively coaching individual team members on their performance and personal growth;
    Vision alignment - Consistently championing and clarifying our product vision for the product development squads; Works with the team to collect competitive intelligence & market research
    Capacity Planning - Ensuring your team has the execution power to deliver on our vision.
    Portfolio Management - Aligning and working with cross-functional teams together with your development manager; overcoming dependencies smartly and servicing your dependants properly;

    Evangelism - You strongly represent the Backbase product both internally as well as externally, from both an operational level as well as at a strategic level at our customers, prospects, standards bodies like FDX and at conferences in your region.


    Who are you?

    You are customer-obsessed, and bring a mix of technical, business and UX know-how to your teams;
    You have 10+ years experience in a digital, cross-functional agile (scale-up) environment, used to manage across different locations & cultures with a strong product background;
    You have strong product knowledge in Retail banking, Small Business Banking or similar domains and can really act as a Subject Matter Expert on this topic for Credit Unions or Community Banks, backed by years of experience in product management;
    You are comfortable working with offshore remote development teams and can effortless inspire them
    You have a distinctive strategic mindset and ability to prioritize and delegate high numbers of tasks with varying workload and importance;
    You have the ability to set up a long term strategic roadmap for our product and involve all stakeholders in the execution of it;
    You are driven and constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery while balancing the need for great collaboration;
    You prefer executing smart experiments with an outcome focused on challenging assumptions and learning, over personal opinion;
    You are able to build, manage and inspire a product team that consistently delivers our product roadmap on time and at the highest quality level;
    You are passionate, ambitious and a "go-getter".
