    Eaton's AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern.

    The starting hourly rate for this position is $ $31.73.

    What you'll do:
    Eaton's Aerospace Sector is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our team. This position is based at our Torrance CA facility.


    Position Overview:


    The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will be responsible for one of manufacturing engineering projects dedicated to work instructions, and Standard Operating Procedure creation, in addition to other duties as assigned.

    The manufacturing engineering function is responsible for creating cycles of improvement throughout the organization by leading capital deployment, continuous improvement / cost-out projects, and other operations excellence initiatives.

    During your 11 week internship, you will:

    • Create, update, and revise work instructions to capture manufacturing operation processes for training purposes
    • Ensure processes conform to all applicable safety, quality, and statutory regulations.
    • Work with engineering to ensure drawings are accurate to the work performed by operators
    • Work with operations and engineering to create new documentation packages and deploy to the production floor.
    • Create time studies for specific manufacturing processes.
    • Participate with in rapid improvement events, with a focus on 5S+ implementation
    • Work with Environment, Health, and Safety team on workstation assessment studies.
    • Create fixtures and tooling using additive manufacturing.

    Qualifications:
    Required (Basic)

    Qualifications:

    • Currently enrolled in an engineering discipline at an accredited education institutional institution (college or university)
    • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA or higher
    • Relocation is not provided for this role. Candidates must reside within the immediate geographic area to be considered
    • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
    • This position requires the use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
    Preferred

    Qualifications:

    • CAD experience and required working knowledge and experience with computers preferred.
    • Experience with MRP systems (SAP).
    • Strong coaching and facilitation skills.
    • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
    • Experience with Microsoft Project

    Skills:

    Position Criteria:

    • Knowledge of a wide variety of manufacturing processes including assembly and pull systems.
    • Technical understanding and experience with Lean Manufacturing Systems and Six Sigma methodology.
    • Ability to think strategically and see big picture in dynamic business environment
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment; to communicate articulately and professionally across many organizational levels and functions
    • Highly motivated, works with a sense of urgency, driven to add value and deliver results
