    JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
    The Donor and Grant Specialist will work directly with the Sr. Director of Philanthropic Engagement to accelerate the grant seeking process assisting with all aspects of the grant seeking process.

    Donor and Grant Specialist will possess experience related to the full range of activities required in grant seeking:
    grant research, relationship management, grant writing, and reporting. This person will provide collaborate with the Sr.

    Director in stewarding existing grantors working to renew their support as well as identifying new sources of funding from private foundations (independent, family, and corporate) and government (local, state, and federal) sources to support the areas of greatest need for the health system.

    Education Bachelor's Degree with equivalent experience. Experience 5-7years of experience in grants seeking/development, grant writing, fundraising, and research. Prior experience with public/private, government and corporate grants, preferable with a non-profit institution.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Exceptional oral and written communication skillsStrong contacts and knowledge of the Baltimore family, corporate and surrounding foundation community.

    Must possess strong prospect research skills, including use of the internet and informational databases.
    Detail-oriented, organized self-starter, ability to multi-task and possess excellent skill in setting priorities to meet multiple deadlines.

    Strong organizational skills to include maintaining donor database, tracking deadlines, and bringing together internal teams to apply for outside funding.

    Highly motivated individual with a proven history of results in soliciting funds for programs, projects, operating, and capital needs.
    Ability to effectively interact with staff from multiple departments.
    Relationship management experience working with donors and volunteers. Ability to work independently and/or under direct supervision. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Raisers Edge/NXT.
