The Lead Project Finance Specialist has responsibility for all reporting and controlling requirements of the project, for proper consolidation of Project results and for a comprehensive communication to secure consistent accounting and reporting of the Project in terms of detailed scope and responsibilities as follows:
Cash Flow and Revenue/Margin management & controlling:
Accountable for all financials of the project
Partner with Project Director & Team to help deliver project on time while maximizing project profitability
Have full ownership of all financial movements with regards to revenue, margin, and cash. Ensure that such information is consistent, approved and reconciled on a regular basis in ERP systems.
Have oversight on all matters related or impacted by the project including but not limited to Taxes, Banking regulations, Transfer Pricing, Policy compliance & others
Ensure global view of consolidated financials of the project, understand each supplying partner's financial movements.
In Partnership with Project Director & other project functions, define revenue recognition (trading) plan, Challenge, and forecast trading and billing milestones to ensure consistent consolidated revenue recognition and cash.
Own Invoicing to Collection processTimely support issuance, maintenance, reduction, recovery and cancellation of bonds and bank guarantees to be issued to customer.
Ensure accurate foreign exchange coverage throughout the project life. Take necessary hedges to proactively protect against adverse impact of Fx fluctuation on project financials
Check, control and monitor movements in Actual and Committed Costs, ask for corrections when necessary
Manage and forecast cash movements monthly. Track cash-in overdue status, give alert and ensure follow-up action plan is taking place. Monitor cash disbursements to control project cash flow, supplier credits & policy compliance
Track project performance including quality, claim management, insurance to have a clear understanding of all Risks & opportunities & accordingly drive improvement in project financials
Provide all necessary support to Project Director and business on financial issues
Process management & people coordination
Responsible for timely and correct booking (Margin as Sold, current as sold, current forecast, internal flow elimination) from order booking to project completion.
Ensure that project data reporting is in line between ERP and approved Project Reviews in Unifier according to budget deviation approved.
Prepare and participate in cash sessions: identification of invoicing triggering events, invoice format, steps from invoice generation until payment, preparation of project cash instruction.
Forex revaluationDevelop strong relationships and continuous communication flows with all project controllers in Project Participating units to ensure that working assumptions are shared, consistent and reported in a timely manner.
Implement the controlling tools used within the reporting unit.Ensure that all financial processes & instructions and internal controls, including DoA, are implemented, robust and compliant.
Be a partner and support GI OTR Finance Leader to drive Projects & process standardization
Management reporting
Prepare and attend the consolidated Project Reviews. Prepare the following documents for the consolidated Project Review.
Consolidated EAS sheets (via KEOPS), cash curve, forex revaluation when required, trading, and billing plans.
Present financial data to Senior Leadership
Produce all financial project reporting as requested by the project functions or project related units.
Accountabilities
Ownership of timely invoicing with documentation and cash collection on the project.
Accurate, timely production and consolidation of project financial statements, as well as reporting in the ERP system.
Transparency and accuracy of project margin
Coordinate and effectively manage all internal financial interfaces on the project such as participating units,
Coordinate billing with customer for GE scope as well as consortium partner
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in either Accounting, Finance, or Business from an accredited university
Minimum of 3 years of project finance experience ideally in the Energy/Power industry
Masters degree in Finance or Accounting
CPA
Project accounting background and operationally focused in the projects energy industry
Use of SAP PS module; ideally 2 + years of experience
Experience in handling HVDC/Turnkey projects
Solid oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in managing relationships within a complex matrix environment.
Graduate from GE's finance Leadership programs
Leadership ability coupled with excellent communications , a decision-maker, and highly collaborative
