Job DescriptionJob Summary:

The Information Technology Technician will install, configure, and support computers, software, and peripheral devices. The Information Technology Technician will also generate reports and ensure data integrity in systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Install and configure appropriate hardware and software according to specifications.
Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software, and computer equipment.
Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.).
Manage reporting and tracking of all IT Assets.
Identify computer or network equipment shortages, and place orders.
Provide support and convey resolutions to customer issues.
Properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support.
Track, route, and redirect problems to correct resources.
Update customer data and produce activity reports.
Follow up with customers, provide feedback, and see problems through to resolution.
Remain current on advances in technology.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position.
Have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware.
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work.
In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks.
Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
Ability to explain technical problems and offer solutions to those without technological training.

Education and Experience:

Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
Related experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
