    The Certified RN Anesthetist is accountable for the provision of safe and efficient anesthesia patient care. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.

    Effectively performs and documents a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient to develop an anesthetic plan * Properly initiates and administers the anesthetics, which may include general, regional, local, and sedation * Accurately selects, applies, and inserts appropriate non-invasive and invasive monitoring modalities for continuous evaluation of patient physical status * Facilitates emergence and recovery from anesthesia by selecting, obtaining, ordering and administering medications, fluids, and ventilatory support * Properly discharges the patient from a post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care * Implements acute and chronic pain management modalities The Certified RN Anesthetist reports to the department manager or director.

    High exposure to hazardous risks, including potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, chemicals.

    Exposed to constant interruptions, noise, disagreeable odors, and assorted chemicals.

    • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Oklahoma or current multistate license from a Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) member state
    • Graduate of an approved school of anesthesia accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists
    • Eligible to take the qualifying examination administered by the A.A. to become eligible for certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
    • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written)

    Marshall County Medical Center:

    • Must hold current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and properly licensed to provide anesthesia in the State of Oklahoma

    Baptist Regional Health Center:
    *CPR and ACLS required
