    Job Title: Generator Technician


    Job Summary:


    A Generator Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of generator systems used in various applications, including residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

    This role requires technical expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the reliable operation of generator equipment.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Installation: Install generator systems according to manufacturer specifications and local building codes. This includes electrical wiring, connection to fuel sources, and integration with existing power distribution systems.

    Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure generator systems operate efficiently and reliably. This may include inspecting components, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, and conducting load tests.

    Repairs: Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues that arise with generator systems. This involves troubleshooting electrical circuits, replacing faulty components, and adjusting settings to restore proper functionality.

    Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues with generator systems by conducting thorough diagnostics and employing effective problem-solving techniques. This may involve analyzing system logs, conducting voltage and frequency tests, and consulting technical manuals.

    Testing: Conduct regular testing of generator systems to verify performance and identify potential problems. This includes load bank testing, voltage regulation testing, and frequency stability testing to ensure systems meet required specifications.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred.
    • Previous experience working as a generator technician or in a related field, such as electrical maintenance or HVAC.
    • Strong knowledge of electrical principles, mechanical systems, and generator technology.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
    • Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks such as lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
    • Valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required, depending on job requirements.
