    The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) provides professional mental health counseling services to patients experiencing emotional, behavioral, psychological, or substance-related concerns. The LPC conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, provides individual and group therapy, and collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote patient wellness and recovery.

    Job Qualifications:
    Education:

    • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
    Licensure:
    • Current, active Texas Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license in good standing.
    • LPC-Associate candidates may be considered if supervision is available (if applicable to your facility).
    Experience:
    • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical counseling experience preferred.
    • Experience in a hospital, rural health clinic, or integrated healthcare setting preferred.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and behavioral health assessments.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
    • Provide individual, family, and group counseling services.
    • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
    • Coordinate care with physicians, APRNs, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
    • Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment, including suicide risk evaluations.
    • Educate patients and families regarding mental health conditions, coping strategies, and community resources.
    • Participate in treatment team meetings and case conferences.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
    • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
    • Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria.
    • Ability to manage crisis situations effectively.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse populations.
    • Proficiency with electronic health records.
