    Construction Foreman

    Cuesta Construction is looking for a full-time foreman in San Diego to join our team.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    As the foreman, you'll be involved in overseeing a crew to complete various phases of construction projects, up to and including all phases from start to finish.

    • Plans, directs, and oversees the activities of laborers and participates in construction projects.
    • Review, study, and follow project plans and blueprints.
    • Ensures goals are accomplished and deadlines are met.
    • Ensures safety precautions are followed and quality standards are met.
    • Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew.
    • Assigns general and daily responsibilities.
    • Supervise the use of machinery and equipment.
    • Resolve problems when they arise.
    • Regularly report progress to the superintendent, managers, engineers, etc.
    • Supervise, train, and give feedback to laborers.
    • Work with other necessary personnel and supervisors to ensure all site and crew activities are in sync.
    • Perform other duties, as assigned.

    Compensation: $30 - $38/hour, depending on experience.

    This is a full-time position on job sites, Monday through Friday. Some overtime may be required.

    Requirements

    Experience and Qualifications:

    • Must have 3-5 years of experience as a foreman in the construction industry.
    • Must have in-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines.
    • Must have a valid driver license and reliable transportation to get to remote construction sites.
    • Be able to commute 20 – 40 miles.
    • Must be able to legally work in the United States.
    • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints.
    • Ability to work well independently and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
    • Self-motivated with attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
    • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
    • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Will be required to stand for long periods of time.
