    The QTI Group is partnering with Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) to hire its first full-time Human Resources Specialist. With a primary focus on payroll and benefits administration, you will also assist with new hire onboarding, job description updates, HR communications, and more Reporting to the Director of Operations, the HR Specialist is part of an administrative team that values a sense of humor, authenticity, teamwork, and professionalism in a casual office environment

    Schedule:

    9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Approximately 35-hour work week with one hour paid lunch breaks

    Location:
    Hybrid with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. In-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays – Downtown Madison.

    Here is what you'll do:
    Serve as the primary point of contact regarding payroll, benefits, and other HR matters
    Prepare monthly payroll in Paylocity, ensuring withholdings, earnings, deductions, and other data are accurate
    Ensure timely reporting related to payroll tax and other reports
    Administer benefits, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
    Provide and deliver educational materials related to group benefits offerings
    Administer leave programs (e.g., disability leave, paid parental leave, bereavement leave)
    Coordinate annual plan review and year-end compliance testing for benefit plans
    Reconcile and process benefits-related invoices
    Complete payroll audits for annual Worker's Compensation and other insurance-related reporting needs
    Assist with new employee onboarding, including new hire paperwork and introduction to Paylocity, employee handbook, and benefits
    Assist with the creation and maintenance of accurate job descriptions
    Assist with the execution of HR-related communications and events
    Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR or related field
    1-3 years' related professional experience, including familiarity or hands-on experience with payroll and benefits administration
    Knowledge of benefits programs, workers' compensation, unemployment regulations, and COBRA
    Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, and Gmail) and/or Microsoft Office applications (Word & Excel)
    Strong attention to detail, discretion, confidentiality, and teamwork skills
