    Internship Overview

    James Hardie is seeking inquisitive, energized, collaborative, and adaptable college students for our 2024 summer intern program.

    Over the course of our 10-12-week internship experience you will have the opportunity to:

    • Work directly with a mentor in your field of study while finding solutions to dynamic and challenging problems.
    • Experience our products up close by touring our state-of-the-art manufacturing and / or research facilities.
    • Interact directly with our company leaders to discuss strategy and the future of James Hardie.
    • Build a lasting professional network through social events and engaging activities.
    • Gain the skills and knowledge to become a future leader in the building materials industry.
    Position Details:

    As a member of our Human Resources team, you will support project work including but not limited to:

    Learning & Development:
    • Update resources / job aids
    • Support training evaluation efforts
    • Pull reports on training evaluation and provide insights
    • Coordinate preparation and logistics for development day
    • Assist with face-to-face training set-up
    Talent Review:
    • Complete data consolidation and analysis (e.g., data breakouts, content analysis to identify development themes)
    • Develop resources / job aids
    • Support system testing and/or data gathering.
    • Support training of HR and business stakeholders
    • Administer retrospective survey and report back key insights
    Performance Management (Mid-Year Review):
    • Support benchmarking efforts by conducting research, participating in informational interviews, and leveraging research databases/network (prior to MYR kick-off).
    • Update resources / job aids
    • Support testing in SuccessFactors
    • Report out completion rates
    • Support training
    • Administer retrospective survey and report back key insights.
    Available Locations: Chicago, IL

    Hourly Rate: $25/Hour

    Work location: Hybrid (minimum 3 days per week)

    Shift: First shift, Monday through Friday

    Relocation stipend available: No

    Basic Requirements:
    • Currently enrolled in a graduate program from an accredited college / university with an expected graduation date between May December 2026
    • Authorized to work in the US.
    • Strong academic performance including a minimum GPA of 3.0
    • Must have reliable transportation to and from the work location.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Program majors: Human Resources, Organzational Development, Industrial Psychology, or similar programs
    • Previous internships / co-ops or work experience and / or involvement with student or civic organizations
    • Ability to work full time for 10-12 weeks during summer 2024
