    Insight Global is seeking a Systems Engineer Expert for an Air Force customer in Hampton, VA. This team is dedicated to supporting the DoD/Air Force Defense Communications Systems 24/7.

    The Systems Engineer Expert's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


    • Will coach and provide guidance to lessexperienced professionals
    • Will serve as a team or task lead.
    • Will create, maintain, and evaluate engineering documents, proposal documents, network diagrams.
    • Analyzes customer requirements and solves unusually complex problems with highly innovative solutions
    • Provides expert knowledge for maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and telecom equipment
    • Provides expert knowledge for maintaining network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability
    • Analyzes, evaluates and plans method of approach and organizes means to achieve solution of complex technical problems
    • Develops advanced engineering ideas and guides their development into a final product
    • Develops advanced solutions to a variety of highly complex engineering problems
    • Perform highly advanced network/systems design, development, and integration from the start of a project life cycle to the end
    • Provides and applies advanced engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining network devices, telecom equipment, radio equipment, operating systems, application software, and system management tools
    • Provides and applies advanced engineering skills to highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis
    • Performs continual maintenance and provides advanced solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems
    • Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
    • Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes
    • Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency
    • Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed
    • Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks
    • Designs and builds hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks
    • Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
    • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
    • Consults with executives and customers to deliver complex network solutions
    • Recognized as an industry leader in network engineering

    Required Skills & Experience

    • Active Secret clearance
    • Leadership Experience
    • History of working in a Government Cisco environment
    • Master's Degree and 15+ years of experience or 21 years of experience in lieu of degree.
    • Must meet the certification requirement of DoD Directive and M
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher
    • Ability to work onsite in Hampton, Virginia
