This position is responsible for safely, efficiently and professionally providing balanced, nutritional meals and other foods for the vessel crew, to serve them in a timely manner, to maintain galley stores, supplies, and to do so within the budget allowed.

Pay Type: Hourly

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Adhere to all company policies
Prepare three (3) meals daily; meals are to be ready at designated times (breakfast/lunch/dinner)
Follow proper sanitation practices and food preparation standards
Maintain the galley such as dishes being washed, counters/cabinets cleaned, floors swept/mopped, etc.
Follow budget guidelines for food ordering

Experience

Up to one (1) year of meal preparation experience
Culinary and dietary skills/knowledge
Extended meal planning

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old
High School Diploma or GED, preferred
Reliable transportation
Regular and punctual attendance
Effective communication is required
ServSafe Certification is preferred
Work Safely
Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary
Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug test and background check
Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship

JOB SCHEDULE AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed or as schedule requires (subject to applicant's religious practices)
Must be able to work 7 days a week with 12-hour shifts (subject to the applicant's religious practices)
Ability/willingness to work any shift assigned
Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overhead
Ability to push/pull as needed
Standing, bending, step, climbing, crawling and working overhead
Ability to perform heavy labor and lift 50+ pounds as needed
